gettyimages-507340564_wide-14b2bdf99c518c37adb970f7517bf481584e5ca7-s900-c85Like everybody else, I’ve been glued to the news to keep up with the latest in the 2016 Presidential race. But even in my off-duty moments, away from the office, I can’t help but laser in on nice jewelry when I see it. Just the other day, I was watching our local news Channel 1 and was struck by the colorful gemstone necklaces the two female anchors were wearing. And as I get my daily dose of news from so many different sources, I simply can’t hold myself back from checking out what the female reporters, anchors and pundits are wearing—including their jewelry. Call it an occupational obsession. So as the RNC winds down and the DNC gears up for its convention this week, here are my personal picks for some of the top jewelry influencers of Election 2106—to date. As the race progresses let’s see who else emerges. And please let me know your top jewelry influencers of Election 2016 so we can compare notes.—Sue Perry

Megyn Kelly, Political commentator, Fox News

Despite the recent flack she got for wearing a spaghetti strap dress behind her convention floor news desk, no one rocks a pair of power earrings like Megyn. Her sleek cropped hair signals no nonsense, and her great choice of earrings lends just enough of a softening accent. The effect is subtle, yet strong.

Robin Roberts, Co-host Good Morning America

If you rely on the morning shows to get your news, no one delivers the days’ message with more journalistic integrity and charm than Robin Roberts. But don’t just take my word for it, she’s one of the highest scoring morning personalities among viewers. And I love her taste in necklaces. Robin is the epitome of tailored chic.

Norah O’Donnell Co-anchor CBS This Morning

Another popular morning personality who has been visible in this campaign is Norah O’Donnell, who is now beamed into our homes sharing her impressions from the convention floor. I like the way she holds her interviewees’ feet to the fire—including the candidates. And I like her preference to keep her accessories simple. Her jewelry doesn’t distract, but is just enough to punch things up.

Tamron is another Election 2016 journalist who is not afraid to challenge her guests or take on controversy. I love her edgy broadcast style which carries over to her choice of jewelry. It’s cool without being over powering and doesn’t distract from the serious journalist she is.
