gorgeous new women's watches

Who says men have to have all the fun when it comes to buying and collecting fine Swiss timepieces? From the looks of the gorgeous new women’s watches introduced by Cartier and other prestige watch makers at SIHH, the annual luxury watch show in Geneva, 2016 might be called the year of the Swiss Miss! And we think that some of the biggest trends are destined to pass the test of time—including dazzling diamond updates of beloved classics, unapologetically girly-girl designs, and luxurious leather watch bands created by Christian Louboutin and other chic shoemakers. Beyond the tony tickers that caught our eye and are shown here, we think there’s also a bigger message for luxury watch retailers: When stocking your cases, don’t forget the ladies!

Pictured above: From the Roger Dubuis Velvet Collection, the BlossomVelvet Pink watch is dripping with diamonds, enamel flowers and femininity. It also comes in a blue version.

The new Cartier Tank Folle, shown left, is an elegant update of one of the elite watchmaker’s most iconic timepieces, the Crash, shown right, with its original free-form dial created by Jean-Jacques Carter, head of Cartier London in the swinging 1960’s.

Another stunner from the Roger Dubuis Velvet Collection, this gold and diamond watch has a gilded leather strap in a ruched design hand-crafted by the Parisian shoe designer, Massaro, to mimic the ruched heel of his famed custom shoes.

Based on a design from the 1940’s, Van Clef and Arpels Ruby Secret watch dazzles as a cuff bracelet, shown left, set with hundreds of Mozambique rubies and diamonds, but doubles as a watch, thanks to a dial that slides out via a secret drawer, shown right.

The Diamond Fury Watch from Audemars Piguet also looks like a striking statement bracelet until a hidden hinge opens one of the spikes to reveal a pave-encrusted two-hand diamond watch dial.
